Un réseau indépendant pour et par les personnes séropositives et avec des co-infections au Canada

Urgent Information Update from the Board to the membership is below.         We  ask you to please read it!

To our members,

We are writing to you today in the spirit of full transparency and accountability.

On February 20, 2019 the CPPN was issued a default letter by our funders, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC). In the letter and in a subsequent conference call with the current board and PHAC, we were informed that PHAC has identified one or more events of default that have occurred under our Contribution Agreement #1718-HQ-000760. The Contribution Agreement is a legally binding document that establishes the term and conditions with which the Recipient must comply, in order to receive funding to carry out this project.

Based on the aforementioned, and in keeping with the term set out in the Agreement, the payment of amounts otherwise payable under the Agreement have been suspended.

At this time we feel that you, as a member have a right to know the current state of the organization. We ask for your patience and understanding as we undertake an inquiry of events from April 1st, 2018 until January 30th, 2019.

Rest assured, the current board is working diligently to provide PHAC with all the reporting requirements not provided by our predecessors. We are grateful that our funders recognize this to be a daunting task and are committed to working with us with open communication towards satisfying all conditions set forth in the default letter.

We want to take a moment to remind our members that the CPPN’s genesis and foundation answered a call from people living with HIV and HIV co-infections on all of our diversities, for a national, independent network of, by and for people living with HIV and HIV co-infections from across Canada.

We will continue to work together towards this vision

The Board of Directors

Remembering | En souvenir de
Robert Bardston
1950 - 2018

It is with profound sadness and a truly heavy heart that we share that Robert Bardston passed away at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton on June 12, 2018. Robert was one of the CPPN’s founding members and he very proudly served as the Prairie representative on the CPPN’s Board of Directors. He died peacefully, surrounded by love. Robert was and will always be an incredible inspiration for so many; his passion and his commitment to people living with HIV and HIV co-infection was unyielding. May he rest in peace.
